Meet Lead Pastor: Kevin Friedberg
Kevin Friedberg grew up in South Wichita. It quickly became a place associated with brokenness and pain. Upon leaving South Wichita for college, he vowed he would never go back.
However, after marrying his wife Kendra and growing in his faith journey, he developed a strong burden to go back and help bring life to this community.
Their family now lives in South Wichita (again), and they are committed to being missionaries and leaders in the community.
Kevin is co-vocational, meaning he plans to keep his part-time job as an accountant at Koch Industries while he leads and grows the SouthLife team.
Church planting is a team effort, and Kevin & Kendra are serving alongside a committed core of people who have a heart of serving the South Wichita community.
Meet our Family Ministry Pastor: Mallory Gaskell

Mallory's love for kids led her to become a teacher, which she has done for the past 6 years. During this time she kept seeing a need for more support for students. This propelled Mallory to get her Masters of Education in Neuroscience and Trauma.

During her studies the Lord shifted Mallory’s heart not to only be for kids, but also for their parents. Mallory has a passion to equip and empower parents. She has a deep desire to create healthy safe spaces for kids to thrive wherever they are, whether that’s at home or at church. It is our hope at SouthLife to be the village that will come alongside parents in helping them raise their kids.

Mallory and her husband Tom are themselves in the thick of parenthood, with two young children of their own. Mallory is partnering with a dedicated congregation of people who love south Wichita and love families.

Meet our Worship / Youth Resident:  Mercy McVay

Mercy began leading worship when she was 15 years old at a weekly community worship and prayer evening. From there, Mercy has continued to grow and serve in different ministries and continued to learn what it looks like to worship in Spirit and in Truth. One of those ministries was Presence Worship where she was equipped and served the last 4 years.

Mercy’s desire is to equip and mobilize all ages into having a heart of worship and prayer. This desire has led her in the recent past to missions in the Middle East where she got to study Arabic and participate in different ministry opportunities with locals. This continues to be a core motivation of Mercy’s to reach the nations.

Mercy was raised into a large family and has always had a heart for children and youth. She has served in youth groups here and children’s ministry overseas. Her heart is to disciple and also mentor young women and girls in their faith with the Lord.
